Mark was supposed to drop me off at the train station, but he was running with my brother still. I dropped myself off by car, Mark would pick it up later. My mum stayed with Roos (I became a mummy in the meantime, that’s why it’s been so long that I’ve been to a gig).
At 1:30 I took the train from Hillegom to Rotterdam. About an hour later I arrived there. I bought myself and Ozzy a Starbucks. Then I left the station to Ozzy’s car. Oz was waiting for me.
Now it’s 610km to the venue freund & Kupferstecher in Stuttgart. That’s about 6 hours drive. Let’s go, we’re ready.
Terry told me that Mike is coming to Belgium in August. He will come to the festival “Feest in het Park”. Hopefully I can go, as I will be on a holiday from July11th till August 11th. The festival is from August 21st till 24th. SWEET!!! I can go. The exact date is not known yet.
A few weeks later they announced that Mike would play on Friday the 22nd. I asked time off from work. Maybe I didn’t need to, but I didn’t know what time Mike would be on. I got the friday off work. While I was on holiday in South Africa, I contacted Mike and asked him if he could sort Ozzy and me out. Mike replied and told me that he would, but I had to remind him closer to the date. Exactly one week before the festival the timetable got announced. Mike won’t be on until 11pm. I didn’t actually need time off, but it’s nice to actually relax on that day. I also sent another message to Mike to remind him that Ozzy and I would still like to go. Mike replied that he will tell the promotor. The day before the gig I received a reply from Mike that we’re on the door.
I am going to the very last gig of The Streets at Big Reunion, the 2nd weekend. It will be my 35th Streets gig, but the last one. I am not to sad, cos I am very excited about whatever Mike is going to do next.
Ozzy & I woke up at 7ish. Took a shower and we got the bus at 8.20 to the airport. We are going to see The Streets in Battersea.
We had our boarding passes already, and only hand luggage as we were only going for 1 night. We got through the passport check to Starbucks in lounge 3 and when we finished our coffee we went through the luggage check. We were boarding at 9.30 and just after 10 the plane left. We arrived at Gatwick at 10 (English time). We got the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station on our way, we passed Battersea, we saw the festival & the Snowboard ramp already.
I woke up at about 7am, got the bus to the airport at 7.50. Arrived at the airport at 8.20. Got a Starbucks at the airport and at 8.45 my train left to Rotterdam. Ozzy would pick me up there. We are going to Paris.
It was a last minute add to their tour. They were replacing Q-tip. I found out last week on Sunday that they would be playing there. On Monday Ted arranged it for us. Thanks Ted! Again!
