Máté told me that Mike would be playing in Cologne. I’ve seen Mike there 2 years ago. It’s only 2 ½ hours drive.
Ozzy and I are going. But the same day is Kingsday in Holland. It’s the birthday of our king we’re celebrating. His actual birthday is on April 27th, but that is a sunday this year, and out of respect for people who go to church on a sunday they don’t celebrate on Sunday’s, they celebrate it that year on a saturday instead. That’s the case this year. We only have a king since April 30th 2013. he took over the throne from his mum (game of Thrones) We used to celebrate Queensday on April 30th, this year the date changed. I need to wear orange, otherwise I’ll look stupid in Amsterdam. That means I will have to wear orange to Mike’s gig too. I am not going home first. Sorry lovely German people.
Monique and I go to London for the weekend. We go shopping. It’s our ladies weekend, as our man are on a lads weekend in Budapest. Flight and hotel were already booked.
Then Moricz Mate told me that Mike will be playing in London in The Old Queens Head on April 18th. While I was updating my website, I discovered that we would be in London as well. I was very excited, I’m going.
Wednesday 24th was my birthday. I celebrated it for my friends and family with a BBQ in my mum’s garden last Saturday. Her house was packed, loved it, but didn’t expect it. Usually everybody is always on a holiday, this time nobody was. Everybody who was invited came over. This weekend I’ll celebrate it with The D.O.T.
I woke up at 7ish, cos Mark had to go to work, I had some stuff to do at my house, cos I have hardly been in for the last month. When that was done I watched “Step up”. I love that movie. I love Channing Tatum it was finished just before 9:30am, a couple minutes later Ozzy arrived. Just before 10am we left to get the bus to the airport. We checked in online already, we only had hand luggage (That was a tip we got from Mike in Solana Beach), so we got through very quickly.
My mate Ozzy and I went to the opening of the first official Apple Store in Amsterdam. In Holland we had a few Mac Houses and iCentres but no Apple Store yet. Now we do, anyways we joined a queue of about 4000 people at 9:50am. The doors opened at 10. And after waiting for 1 ½ hour we got in, we got a lovely orange t-shirt, Nice for queensday people said, but it’s my 4th orange t-shirt so I have enough, nice t-shirt to sleep in. I bought a docking station for my iPhone.
I am going to the very last gig of The Streets at Big Reunion, the 2nd weekend. It will be my 35th Streets gig, but the last one. I am not to sad, cos I am very excited about whatever Mike is going to do next.
Ozzy & I woke up at 7ish. Took a shower and we got the bus at 8.20 to the airport. We are going to see The Streets in Battersea.
We had our boarding passes already, and only hand luggage as we were only going for 1 night. We got through the passport check to Starbucks in lounge 3 and when we finished our coffee we went through the luggage check. We were boarding at 9.30 and just after 10 the plane left. We arrived at Gatwick at 10 (English time). We got the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station on our way, we passed Battersea, we saw the festival & the Snowboard ramp already.
