Last week I went to Scotland for the weekend with Mark, but today I’m heading to London with Ozzy. Ozzy can’t be left out, so I needed to go with him as well. So I go twice 🙂 (well 3, I also went to Amsterdam, but that was announced later).
We thought this would be the last show, but they added an extra show on April 27th. Gutted we’re not at the last show, but we can’t go to this one. We’re flying home on the 27th. And besides that, it was sold out in seconds.
After this UK tour they announced a European tour, well, not really a tour, more a warming up. They also played in Amsterdam I’ve been there 2 weeks ago. In Amsterdam Mike also talked about a real European tour next year. So this is not the end of The Streets.

Mark and I bring Roos (pronounce: Rose (like the flower) to my mum. Roos will be staying there for tonight. Ozzy comes over tonight, he’ll be staying over at ours as we have to be at the airport really early tomorrow morning. I’ve tried to make the Deep fried mars myself, it was terrible, nothing like the one in Scotland. Time for Bed. Alarm goes off at 6.
Thursday the 26th of april 2018
Alarm goes very early, 6am, but it’s all good! Going to see Skinner 1 more time! I made some coffee for Mark, he will drop us off at the airport. Bless him! I washed my hair. 6:30 ish we left for the airport. We went through security real quick. Then we got a Starbucks. Our flight was supposed to leave at 8:55, we were on the plane, but we had to wait.
I’ve sent Mike a message and asked him about Guest list for Tonga, but I guess I’m a little early. Sorry, hope I didn’t wake him. In the end we were 20 minutes delayed, but only arrived 10 minutes late. At Gatwick, we got the Gatwick Express. When we arrived at Victoria station we went to Shakespeare pub. We had some breakfast there. It was very small, but very welcome, we were so hungry! It was noon for us already. We finished that real quick. While we were still having tea and coffee, Máté arrived. We also stayed in touch with Aoife. they are already in Brixton.
We’ll go there soon. One more drink. We can’t check into the hotel anyway. Not before 2pm. We took the metro to Brixton. We went to Wetherspoons Beehive. Aoife and David, Bonach (twin sister of Aoife, they do not look like each other) and her partner Brendan. We had another drink before we went to the Hotel.
When we were at the hotel I’ve sent Mike another message and I got my confirmation.
We wanted to take a nap and a shower. Shower we did, but I couldn’t sleep. Ozzy fell asleep on and off. We went back to Wetherspoons. Before we left we knocked on Aoife and David’s door, they were still there, we thought they’d gone back to Wetherspoons. They are coming later. Shep, Jamie, The Emma’s were in the pub, so was Adam, we’ve been talking for years, but we met for the first time. He’s lovely!!!
After 1 drink we went to Nando’s, but I saw that the Box office was open, we could collect our tickets already. Awesome!!! Then it was time for dinner at Nando’s. When we finished that, we joined the queue. I texted Aoife that we were in the queue. Aoife came over and joined us. While we were waiting to get in, we saw Kevin walking by. He stopped to take a photo with Anthony Ogle. Ozzy went over to say hello, I stayed in the queue, but Kevin came over to say hello to me. He’s amazing. So sweet!!
When the doors opened the O2 priority lane got in first, We had to go through Security they checked our passes and bags. When we walked through the door we saw that we could easily go to the front. There we were up front again. I went to the merchandise, I needed a new shirt of this tour. I saw Anthony ogle, I went to say hello. I’ve been talking to Matthew Hendo for years as well, but today we finally met! Soon the others arrived as well. It was still easy to get towards the front.
The streets were amazing as always, but also today the bass for The Streets was pretty loud. I was happy with my earplugs. During the gig Mike asked “where is shep?” We pointed at him. Mike went to say hello. We got Crushed up front, but the gig was amazing! It was really good!! They were on fire!!!
After “Never went to church” Mike had to wipe off some tears. That was emotional.
Shep & Jay got a playlist from Tim, but Shep gave his to Adam. They had to leave for the train. Matthew also left with his friend. Aoife, David, Bronach and Brendan left as well, Aoife got a real bad headache. She couldn’t make it to Tonga unfortunately. Get well soon! We’ll have some breakfast together in the morning. I also got a play list from Tim. They “checked” on mine.
We could skip the line as it was just the 2 of us on the guest list. Thanks so much Mike.
We got a drink and waited for the others. That didn’t take to long tho. Máté, the Emma’s and Adam were there. We got another drink then we left to the front. Next to the DJ booth. Máté joined us as well. I’ve texted Adam. Told him where we were. He came over as well, but without the Emma’s. We asked them were they were but the Emma’s left. When Mike walked by he gave me a kiss. So did Tim. I’ve texted Dan, but he has gone home already. He has to work tomorrow morning. I’m so small. I wish I was a little bit taller. I sat on Ozzy and Máté’s shoulder for a little while. I had a perfect view, but they couldn’t hold me the whole night.
Murkage Dave said hello when he walked by.
After about 1 hour skinner left. So did we.
We went downstairs to the bar for a drink. At 2:30 the bar closed, Tonga has finished, we left Phonox. We went to our hotel. Adam was staying in the same hotel as we were. Máté is staying in another hotel he took the Uber taxi. We drank a cup of tea and we went to bed.
Friday the 27th of April 2018
I woke up, cos I got a message from Mark. It’s Kingsday in Holland today. I got a lovely photo of Roos. She’s ready for it. My princess in training.
I saw that Mike posted something on Instagram. He’s awake so I’ve sent him a message to thank him. He sent me a few messages back.
I took a shower, so did Oz. then we stayed in touch with Aoife and Máté and Adam. We were having breakfast at the hotel. We were late, it was closed already, but there was still something left. Aoife and David left earlier, and they went to Wetherspoons with Bronach and Brendan. When we checked out we went over to Wetherspoons for a drink then we said goodbye. We went to Piccadilly Circus. I did some shopping I wanted a “I love London” t-shirt for Roos. We bought 2 tshirts in a souvenir shop. We had a drink in a pub.
At 2pm it was time to go back to Victoria. Time to go home. At 2:30 we took the train to the airport. Our plane leaves at 5:20. When we arrived at Schiphol we were 20 minutes early, but we had to wait 30 minutes for the bus. It’s a public holiday so they only go 1x per hour. At 9 ish we arrived home. Roos was asleep already.
