The Streets Edinburgh 2011

Edinburgh, Scotland, 18 February 2011

The boys have been away for 1,5 year since their America tour, but exactly 1,5 year after their last tweet they can back with this video:

Ozzy & I walked to the tram, got on the tram in Amsterdam Osdorp (I bought a house in Amsterdam last year), for a few stops, then the train from Amsterdam Lelylaan to the airport where we arrived at 7.45.

Ozzy brought 1 suitcase which we had to check in, then Ozzy and I went to look for some interesting gadgets which we don’t need and we can’t afford.

At about 10.20 am we were ready to take off. FINALLY! Have been waiting for this for 1 ½ year. Last time we’ve seen them was in America. A few minutes past 11 we landed and Ozzy got his suitcase, and I got in contact with Shep, Jamie & Callum. Let them know we arrived. Shep & Jamie were in the pub of their hotel, we decided to go there as well, Callum was still working.

At about noon we arrived at Jamie and Sheps hotel.

What we’re going to have? Just pretend we’re locals and start with beer. Is this really a good idea? We still have all day…. Anyways I cuddled the boys cos last time I saw them was even longer ago then the last time I saw The Streets. At about 2pm Shep & Jamie got freshen up, didn’t take long. They are quicker then expected 🙂 Soon after that we went to look for the venue, I needed a photo of that.

We got some lunch at Nando’s. While we finished our lunch, Tim got in. We had a little chat, but it felt awkward to bother him because he was waiting for his food. Anyways Tim was nice and took some time for the chat. Was cool that Tim recognized me, he even knew my name. He remembered our tweets during the world cup. Last time I saw him was in San Francisco.

We went to a bar next to the venue called Shakespeare. Just after 5 minutes Laurence arrived and we took a cab to Callum‘s house. We had a little party there. Jamie showed us some of his DJ skills, wasn’t very impressed, until Callum showed him how the computer program worked, after that Jamie did well.

Soon Chelsea, Callum‘s fiance, (lovely girl!) And Valerio & Pat arrived, Callum‘s friends. Both lovely guys, although I wasn’t so sure about Val, because he wanted me to sleep on the couch…So he could sleep in bed, while he lives around the corner, not quite a gentleman…

At about 7 pm, Shep and I were wondering at what time we would go to the venue, so we decided to get a cab. Difficult instructions of the location of Callum‘s house, so Chelsea phoned the cab for us. Within 5 minutes it was there, Laurence, Ozzy & Jamie joined me and Shep. Shep gave me the lighter they got sent through the post by 679 records.

We were on the guest list, thank you so much Ted for sorting us out! We got inside, and we stood up front. Engine Earz was on, wow, best support act I have ever seen of The Streets. They were really good. Rod came to say hello. Then Ted was standing close to us, He got “sexually harassed” by Shep and Jamie, Ted was smiling, so I guess he didn’t mind much.

Only the security guard didn’t really like it. I went to say hello. Then Richie came over to us. Was great to see him again, last time was 4 years ago. Sorry for ignoring you Richie! but when I am with the Streets… nothing around me matters. sorry! We should meet up soon again! Also Kyle, who I know from Facebook was up front, we waved at each other. After the gig we met.

Time for The Streets, very good gig! Loved the combination of Mike, Rob Harvey & Kevin. Was great to see Cassell back with The Streets. Madge did a great job, with his new job as a “musical director”. Great playlist! New Wayne… Stuart & new Chris… Steve were great too!!

Also during the gig Peter Tuck said hello to me. Good to see him, although I was filming!! Anyways, we met up after the gig.

We went to a bar next to the venue after the gig. We got a few drinks there, Laurence went to have a cigarette and she saw Mike. And Ted and Beat Stevie were there as well, also Cassell. Only some guy was cuddling Mike, so Mike had to be saved by Ted and run back inside. I missed him. Thankfully a new chance tomorrow.

Rod was in the pub already, after a while Ted, Madge, Kevin, Cassell & Sasha got in as well, but left pretty quick. I did tell Ted that I want him and Mike to sign my bikini. That was fine by Ted, but we would have a drink tomorrow and they would sign it. YAY I am very happy. Thank you!!

Also Peter came over to that pub.

I’m glad we got a cab at about midnight to Callum and Chelsea’s house, because my head felt like it was exploding! I had a huge headache. I was so nervous that day, and all the pressure fell of me. And it gave me a headache, after some painkillers I went to bed at about 1am. I was suffering from a Migraine.

In 2010 They had a sabbatical. But at the end of 2010 they released a few videos.
