America 16th of february 2009
At 9 in the morning, we checked out and put our luggage in the van, also Jamie‘s and Shep‘s…. They didn’t travel with us, they had a plane to catch. 7 hours drive to go…. Poor Ozzy was driving a very long boring trip. And the ladies (all 3 of us) slept the whole trip)
Finally we arrived at a very very very beautiful Lake Natoma Hotel…. Guess what?! The boys where staying in the same hotel again. Shep told us, he saw them checking in. We didn’t see them.
Right after we arrived we took a shower got changed and took a cab to the venue.
We were WAY TO EARLY! Went inside, had a little chat with Rod, Shan, Stuart, Wayne & Baz. Then we went for some food and Starbucks, when we got back we could see the sound check! That was so nice to experience!! I liked it. When that was finished we had to check ourselves in….
The security guard asked Baz, are they with you? He said no, Im taking care of the drums, they are not with me. He smiled when he said that tho. Then he asked Ozzy what instrument he played. Ozzy said: The iPod, the security guard laughed but didn’t want to, he didn’t like Ozzy‘s funny answer. Then some other security guard took it over and asked me the same question but Rod and Baz said, they are guests. They are with us. Thanks for helping us! The security guard who took over stayed at the door the whole evening. He knew us now and they let us move all around the venue, while the rest of the crowd was only allowed at the front door.
Time for dinner. We went to eat chips (fries in American way, if you say chips in America, you get the same thing as in Holland, crisps) and a burger. What else? Thats what we’ve been eating the whole week. And a drink at Starbucks. When we went back it started to get busier!! Also the Emma’s arrived, poor Emma didn’t have great experience. She booked a cab. When the cab arrived she didn’t notice it was Mike‘s cab. (Mike had been waiting for that cab for nearly an hour) thankfully not long after that Emma‘s cab arrived as well. She already felt shit after what happened in Solana Beach. Ozzy and I decided to get to the front and right then Jamie and Shep arrived….. more crowd up front this time. It was really easy to get to the front tho.
I had a really good time
although there was one guy who made it really hard for me to stay up front… but I managed, thanks to Mike. He cared about me, and took care of me. He said to the guy. No, she is with me and while Mike said that he stroked my hair. aww. Although the guy was happy that he got attention from Mike. He didn’t care about what Mike said.
This photo is taken by Rod: (can you see the guys arms around me?! That was during the whole gig)
After the gig I looked for a quiet corner where I could sit and relax. The only corner I could found was close to the tourbus. That corner wasn’t too quiet tho, loads of people walked around the tourbus… I got curious, so looked behind the bus as well…. and the boys were there, said hello to Cassell, Madge, Wayne, and I saw Mike…. decided to give the Americans a chance who will probably never see them again. Tim told an American fan that Ted left already.
Mike spotted me and decided to come over and have a chat. He excused himself and came over to me. “That was hectic” Mike said, meaning that guy with his arms around me the whole gig. We talked about his walk to the Folsom jail where Johnny Cash has stayed, he walked there on his flipflops.. He told me he had to go to the front door to register himself, euhm… do these people actually know who are playing at their own venue? We also talked about San Francisco, and that I’ve been there before. he said, Are you staying longer or are you going home? I told him I had to go home to work, to be able to afford all this travelling. he smiled and said “aww bless you” and gave me a cuddle.
Then when Mike went back in the bus we walked over to Cassell, he took us back inside the venue. Wayne, Kevin and Madge were there as well. It was time to get a taxi to go back to the hotel tho. The Emma’s, Shep and Jamie were also waiting for a cab. They left about a minute earlier.
That evening I tried to ring their hotel room, and tell them we had to leave earlier to San Francisco, but or, they weren’t back yet, or asleep already.
