The Streets Open Source Festival 2009

Dusseldorf, Germany, July 25th 2009

Ozzy & I went from Bloemendaal to Dusseldorf early in the morning to go to a camping and set up the tent. We found the Strandbad Nord Unterbacher camping, we set up the tent and it started raining a lot. We still had to bring in our sleeping stuff. Oh well after a few minutes it was dry again and the sun was shining. So we could finish it. In the meanwhile, I had contact with Laurence, She let me know that Laurie wouldn’t join us as she didn’t feel too well, Laurence was coming alone. At about 1pm we arrived at the festival, and I text Laurence to let her know where we were.

Well, she arrived at the same moment as I finished my text to her… what timing!

Hmm weird weather, as Rod said, “showers, sun, showers, sun, rain, showers, sun” anyways after a heavy rain shower, the sun came out and the sun stayed out, and it got really warm!

Laurence saw Magic walking on the festival, I decided to say hello and we had a little chat.

Madge wished me happy birthday. (I said on twitter that I was celebrating my birthday there, he remembered) Laurence stayed at a distance, taking photos, I’m so thankful she did but please, come and join us. I introduced her to Madge. Then I saw Chris walking by we said hello, he said hello back, but he had something else to do I guess, cos he walked on. Then a couple of hours and a couple of tequila’s later, I think it were 5 or 6 tequila’s later Wayne, Kevin, Chris & Cassell walked by.

The boys came over to me to say hello and they wished me happy birthday, I introduced Laurence to them. We had a few photo’s taken and it was soon time to get to the stage to be up front, although it was really quiet there. Brilliant birthday party so far, not much can go wrong anymore.

Rod had to leave us, he had some work to do… TIME FOR THE STREETS!!!

Was good to see them again!! What a gig again!!! Best birthday ever!! Last week was a birthday present from Ozzy, today I celebrated it again, as it was my birthday yesterday.

During the gig Laurence wanted to take something out of her bag, she was leaning over the fence, but it looked like she fell over and Mike thought that ha ha he looked really strange at her LOL. Great first impression ha ha

At the end, when Mike was introducing the boys to the crowd and saying goodbye, Magic said something to him. Mike turned around and wished me a happy birthday aw thanks for that! That made my day!! I was so happy!! I nearly cried!

After the gig, and a few more tequila’s, I saw the boys again. I thanked Magic for telling Mike but he said “He knew, I only had to remind him” aw thanks so much Magic, for reminding him! Then a couple minutes later Mike came over to me to wish me a happy birthday personally. After a cuddle and a kiss.

He also got a photo taken with me, and I introduced Laurence to him. Mike said, ow you are the girl that nearly fell over hahahaha. Laurence got a few pics taken with the boys as well.

What a day! What a birthday! Perfect, couldn’t wish for a better present and party!

Laurence joined us to the camping. She decided to stay there with us for that night, so she didn’t have to drive back in the middle of the night after about 10 tequila. I lent her a little mattress. She could drive back the next morning in the daylight. We had to smuggle her on the camping site, in the tent.

July 26th 2009

The next day we had to smuggle Laurence out of the campingsite and after we broke our tent down we went back to Bloemendaal.
